At Your table is pleased to now offer cooking classes in addition to our personal chef services. We have a variety of cooking classes available to offer in Sydney.
Here are a selection of the cooking classes we offer
Moroccan
Moroccan food is one of the most cleverly balanced cuisines on earth; spices are used to enhance the flavour of dishes and there is nothing like the warm waft of beautiful spices that seduce you when you open the lid of a Tagine.
Examples of dishes you will be cooking in this class are:
- Chicken, lamb or fish Tagine
- Lamb Ayarez
- Moroccan lentil stew
- Cumin cous cous with pine nuts, pomegranate raisins and chickpeas
- Moroccan spicy carrot dip
- Cumin, yogurt and mint dip
- Zartar bread

Indian
The essence of good Indian cooking revolves around the appropriate use of aromatic spices. The skill lies in using spices to enhance rather than overwhelm and intrinsic flavour of a particular dish.
Each region of India has its own style of cooking and distinct flavours. North is known for Tandoori and Korma dishes, South is famous for hot and spicy foods, the East specialises in chilli curries, the West uses coconut and seafood and the Central part of India is a blend of all.
Examples of dishes you will be cooking in this class are:
- Rajasthan red lamb curry
- Kerala (south Indian) prawn curry
- Home style lentils from North India
- Eggplant curry from Tamil, South India
- Cumin roast cauliflower and potato from Bihar, West India
- Eggplant pickle
- Riata
In this class we will show you how to marry the different spices but also how drawing out several flavours from a single spice – by roasting, grinding or frying – to create a vast spectrum of flavours. Click here to find out more.
Spanish
Food is savored and enjoyed communally and many traditions have evolved over the years including the famous tapas - the series of small snacks eaten with a drink as the prelude to a meal. One of the great joys of tapas is that they are easy to prepare and their ingredients are widely available. In this class we will create some of the most famous dishes on a tapas menu.
Examples of dishes you will be cooking in this class are:
- Spanish black mussels with chorizo, tomato, sherry and chilli
- Sautéed garlic mushrooms
- Stuffed sardines
- Pickled stuffed peppers
- Patatas bravas
- Spanish meatballs
- Chickpeas and chorizo
- Chilli prawns
- Tortilla

Scandinavian
Swedish cuisine could be described as centered around cultured dairy products, crisp and soft breads, berries and stone fruits, meats like beef and pork, seafood, shellfish, fish, pickled fish (and pickled vegetables), with vegetable staples including potato and the kale and cabbage families.
Swedish cuisine is focused around simplicity. It is all about the quality of the produce and enhancing their natural flavor with just a few simple ingredients. It is about how we treat that special piece of meat or fish to take it to another level.
Examples of dishes you will be cooking in this class are:
- Gravad lax (vodka and dill cured salmon) with home made mustard sauce
- Traditional Swedish meatballs with home made lingonberry and cream sauce
- Swedish archipelago fish stew with dill aioli - Prawns, salmon, barramundi cooked in lobster jus, white wine and saffron
- Toast Skagen
- Venison with redcurrant jus (when in season)
- Potato gratin
In this class you will learn how to successfully marry berries and stone fruits to quality meat and fish. You will learn how to make your own seafood bisque using a few simple steps to set the basis of this beautiful fish stew. You will learn how to make your own dill aioli and you will never buy mayonnaise again from the supermarket.
