Glen grew up in South Africa where he spent most holidays camping and fishing, along the beautiful North Coast and into Mozambique. He learned to fillet and cook fish at a very young age, following his dad’s advice “you keep it, you eat it.” That’s where his passion for cooking over fire and using fresh, simple ingredients came from.
After finishing high school, Glen travelled for two years spending his final year working in a kitchen in Scotland. From there he decided to pursue cooking as a career. He returned to South Africa and completed a 3 year Cordon Bleu French cooking course.
He is lucky enough to have learned cooking from the team at Le Quartier Francais in South Africa, which at the time was the number one restaurant in Africa. He has 10 years’ experience as a Chef in the industry, where he’s been lucky enough to have worked in some award winning restaurant and lodges in South Africa and New Zealand, alongside some well known Chefs who have earned Michelin stars, hats and a number of other accolades.
Recently he enjoyed a Private Chef role on an Australian based yacht, and thrived on the personal connections that come alongside working with a client to create a wow factor for their private dinners. He is dedicated and passionate about producing high quality, innovative dishes and he places high importance on tailoring the event to the client’s needs, in order to create a memorable experience for all.
Glenn and his wife have now settled in Mornington where he enjoys supporting the local quality produce and foraging the landscape to create memorable dishes.
