Chef Max Chang have been in the industry for 11 years, working alongside the likes of John Rankin of Quay and Owl House, and Stevenson Su of Aria.

Upon completing his training, he spent 2 years in Vanuatu working on super yachts for numerous clients. In recent years he has applied his skills to contracting jobs, working on big catering events for companies like Events By Aria, Pearl Catering and various restaurants.

Max’s style of cuisine blends simple clean flavours with an emphasis on freshness and seasonality. Max uses flavours and textures in their natural form and delivers them in an understandable but delightful format.

Max’s food was great. He catered well for our 2 x coeliacs. The snapper cerviche was a highlight. We would’ve loved Max so say goodbye before he left so we could thank him.

Chef was late by about 30 mins. Food was nice but not everything that was on the menu was provided including stuffing. We had some of our own so it wasn’t the biggest deal. The desert was different to the menu. The chef left the house twice throughout the few hours and then would turn back up. Our desserts were left on the counter for over 30 mins until he came back to serve them. The waiter Adam was amazing. He went above and beyond.

Max was great, he took on our booking at short notice and with very limited cooking facilities on a yacht we had hired and still came out with a great 3 course meal, we had a risotto, duck breast for the main course and a fruity dessert with some meringue and ice cream i think. Overall great experience.

Max was really easy to deal with and took time to understand what our requirements were. He made sure he was prepared for the day and visited our house prior to make sure everything would work. The food was amazing and the menu really suited the middle of winter and he ensured our kids were catered for and happy. The wait staff really helped, especially Joe who regularly checked in with me throughought the night to ensure eveyone was looked after. It was great to not to have to think about cleaning up afterwards. We look forward to using you for our next special event!
