After ten years of working and living in New Zealand and across Europe Shane has recently returned Australia with his young family in order to start the next phase of his life and career. Having been raised on a sheep farm in the Goulbourn Valley he has settled in Mornington; having been attracted to the slower pace of life and the work/life balance available on the Mornington Peninsula.
Shane is a chef and pastry chef with eighteen years of experience behind him. He is passionate about his profession and food, having been lucky enough to forge a diverse and rewarding career so far. After realising at a young age that a vocational approach to education was more his style, he gained an apprenticeship at a local traditional bakers and his love for cooking was cemented. Shane proceeded on to the Melbourne restaurant scene and was privileged to receive wider chefs training within the kitchens of Melbourne’s iconic establishments such as The Stoke House (Two Hats). With a solid skill set and top class fine dining experience Shane branched away from Melbourne to broaden his personal and working knowledge. In 2009, after meeting his British born wife, he relocated to Europe where he has been working as a private chef to high net worth individuals on super yachts cruising around the Mediterranean.
Shane feels that being a private chef to the worlds most demanding clients alongside the influences of the European produce and cuisine has provided a huge advancement in his capabilities and skill levels as well as his own personal confidence and passion for food. Shane finds being a private chef hugely rewarding and his is truly enthused about bringing top class food to the intimate and relaxed environment of your own home. As with many chefs Shane is extremely interested in sustainability, home grown produce and using locally sources, seasonal produce and he is excited to bring the wonderful local produce of the Peninsula to your table. His food is fresh, healthy and delicious and whilst Shane holds himself to the highest standards both in a culinary sense and on a personal and professional level he always has a smile and some good chat to create a warm and relaxed environment around himself.Book Chef

We really couldn’t fault the meal at all. Jenna was great too, she set the table up beautifully and was really good with the food and wine service, really profesional – this also felt really special.

We’d love to book them again, without any hesitation.susan foley (VIC)
Shane was brilliant! Everything from being on time, prepared, polite and professional during the whole dinner service. He really made the experience so enjoyable – classy, yet comfortable in our own private space.
The food was amazing! Every bite was filled with flavour in your mouth – from entree, sides, main through to dessert we were WOW’ed by the talent, skill and flavour combinations served up.
Being a foodie and fussy with flavours, Shane most definitely ticked all the right boxes! He also ensured everything presented was dairy free to cater for special requests and intolerances.
A really unique and enjoyable experience, worth the first class dinner at home. Would recommend him to all family and friends – the only sad thing was, we couldn’t take him home to be our chef everyday!
Thanks very much Shane, we enjoyed your company, skills and passion for food. You made my birthday an envious and special one to remember! 🙂
