4.3Jason’s passion for food started at a very young age, baking cakes with his mum, long before he knew the difference between plain and self-rising flour. He discovered the difference after making a beautifully designed, but flat and heavy apple cake. His young inquisitive mind went to work trying figure out how to make it better, and his love for food was born. From then on he has always questioned the status quo and looked for a better way.
This determination led him to his first Head Chef role at the completion of his apprenticeship. His continuing drive saw him gain invaluable experience through working with Chefs in the top restaurants around Sydney.
Jason then applied this knowledge in several Head Chef positions in Sydney’s top restaurants. His hunger for new experiences and challenges saw him venture into catering, where he has concentrated his efforts over the past few years. Jason’s approach to cooking is to balance clean flavours with layers of texture.
Five years ago Jason discovered a passion for teaching while working with a corporate team building company. Jason became a qualified trainer and assessor, and began running cooking events and classes through a variety of mediums. His future goal is to become a Tafe teacher so that his 20 years of cooking knowledge and his enthusiasm can inspire budding apprentices.

Only feedback is that I wish I had known that Jason would be bringing his own plates/cutlery etc as I went to the effort of hiring these for the event and Jason's was divine, so we didn't use mine in the end.

We used At Your Table and selected Jason for a 21st Birthday for 28 people. Jason and the team did an absolutely fabulous meal but the time spent with the guests explaining the meal made us all feel very special. The food quality, presentation and organisistion of the meal was first class and lived up to the high expectations set. Wow! what an amazing experience had by ALL. Chef Jason was exceptional! From the moment he arrived he looked the part, was charismatic and ON TIME! The dishes looked exquisite as they arrived on the table and each mouthful was an experience on it's own. Chef Jason took us through each meal and was happy to talk to us throughout the night. Our waiter Jefferson was simply wonderful, he was so polite and his service was outstanding. There was never a time our glasses were empty or our plates were not full. We'd love to have them both permanently. If it's something you do once then don't hesitate, one the best nights we've had in a long time. We're already planning our next event, thank you so very much.

Jason was late -- which worried me considerably -- though he did phone -- still -- Sydney traffic can be planned for. Once he arrived he did the job very well. From Ellie's description (our first choice was Akuc) Jason was to 'do a bit of a chat' around the food -- this didn't eventuate...
Overall he coped well with our lactose and gluten free guest (thanks) but I had hoped for a bit more 'on the day'

Last Saturday Jason cooked us an amazing five course degustation course. Not only did I leave feeling full (I am a big guy and often am not full after a degustation), but when asked what our favourite dish was I couldn't answer it with one dish only. All of the dishes were stand out and mouth watering delicious. Jason presented the components and cooking techniques of each dish with an infectiously positive passion for his food, and each meal looked amazing and enticing.
All in all, we had a brilliant time with friends and really enjoyed the culinary journey that Jason so professionally and passionately took us on. I can't wait to do this again. Gold star to Jason and the At Your Table crew.

Jason cooked some great food and the whole experience of being able to pick his brains on how he cooked everything and cooking in general made it an awesome experience. He really is passionate about his food and it really showed in the meals we ate.
It was pretty strange having someone else cooking for us in our kitchen while we just sat there and drank wine though!
