Granita
Granita is a Sicilian semi-frozen dessert (sometimes savoury preparations) with endless possibilities for flavourings. A Granita mix is frozen in a similar fashion to sorbet but with lower sugar content and often churned or stirred by hand it forms ice particles giving it a ‘slushy’ property. Common flavours in Italy include lemon, coffee, orange and mint amongst many others.
