Sumac is grown in sub tropical and temperate regions, in it’s food form it is a purple powdered spice used in middle eastern cuisine. Sumac has a storng citrus note, with it’s flavour commonly described as lemony.

Sumac is often used with Hummus, in Dukkah spice mixes and for adding a citrus element to many meat dishes.
